Kenwyne Jones should be back for Sunderland in October, after having surgery on Tuesday.
Jones suffered a knee injury while playing in a friendly game for Trinidad and Tobago against England in June, but it took over two months before he went under the knife. Now the surgeons have done their thing, Roy Keane has confirmed that the 23 year old will be back in action inside eight weeks. Keano said: "He had his operation yesterday. Fortunately, we've avoided major surgery and expect him back in training in the next six-to-eight weeks. "You never know the full story until you go into the knee, that's why we've been open in terms of the prognosis. But it's great news for everyone at the club - Kenwyne is a big player for us."
