Injuries Force Edwards, Jones T&T Withdrawals

Carlos Edwards and Kenwyne Jones won't be travelling to the Caribbean for Trinidad and Tobago - after Roy Keane pulled the pair out through injury.

Keane said after the 1-0 win at Aston Villa that Jones missed today's game with a virus, and the Sunderland boss revealed that Edwards aggravated a groin injury today.

Keane said: "Kenwyne didn't train yesterday, he has a virus and could not travel. I spoke to the doctor and he told me that Kenwyne was not right. The temptation is always to take a risk but it would not have been fair.

"I doubt whether it's a 24 hour thing, it will be longer than that. Carlos has a groin injury which he picked up in training yesterday, he won't be fit to travel."

Not being cynical or anything, but if Carlos had the groin injury after training on Friday, why did he play 67 minutes for Sunderland today?
