Sky Television have finally decided to broadcast the Tyne-Wear derby next month - but it's going to be moved to a Sunday.
The game, which was already moved to earlier on Saturday on police advice, will now be played on Sunday April 20, with a 1.30pm kickoff. Sunderland's chief executive, Peter Walker, said: "Whilst this is out of our control, we do apologise to any Sunderland supporters who may be inconvenienced by the change. On a more positive note, it being selected for live TV does mean that many more Sunderland fans will get the chance to see the game." Just a question for Sky Television and Northumbria Police - we've all known this game was due to have been played on Saturday afternoon since June of last year. What has made both of you wait until the final month before the game before you got off your arses and did something if you were going to change it??
